After a flying visit from Michael and Tamsin, Peter and Janet are wondering who else might pop by (as if anybody could pop by to Fetlar!).
Peter with Heidi and Hneffi (Dec 29th).

Merry Christmas
Peter and Janet woke up on Christmas morning to a lack of electricity, apparently a low flying sleigh brought down some power lines.
They are bearing up under the strain but their diet is reduced to ham sandwiches and the remains of a smoked hamper topped off with some very pleasant wine.
I think they will survive.

The situation so far.
Dear all,
Dad was taken to Aberdeen from Lerwick suffering from a stubborn infection that was finally treated with intravenous antibiotics.
Because of his other problems he had a scan and he has secondary cancer of the lung and of the bones at the base of his spine.
It is possible that the secondary cancer in his lungs came from the melanoma that he has had removed from his head. The secondary cancer in his bones would appear to have another source, possibly in the prostate.
He is due to have an investigation of his bladder and prostate today so then we may learn a bit more.
He had a scan of his back/spine yesterday so that should give some more information too.
Hopefully today we will get some more information about what the doctors think is wrong and how they propose to treat it.
Dad sounds much better on the phone now that he has had the super doses of antibiotics, but is still not up to being up and about very much.
Love Michael

Hi Everyone,
Hopefully this will be a useful point of contact for information about Dad.
I am going to allow everyone that can see the blog to be an editor.
This should allow people to ask questions and post information easily.
I have never written a blog before, so it is a bit of a steep learning curve.
Love Michael
